About
Two weeks after Holy Week, Seville throws its joyous April Fair: a week of decorated casetas, sevillanas danced until dawn, rebujito, horses and polka-dot flamenco dresses by the Guadalquivir.
Highlights
- The alumbrao — the lighting of the main gateway — opens the fair at midnight.
- Casetas, sevillanas, rebujito and horse-drawn carriages fill the fairground all week.
- Daytime is for horses and finery; nights are for dancing until dawn.
Practical tips
- Many casetas are private; a few public ones welcome everyone — look for the municipal caseta.
- Go in the early evening for the lights, then stay for the dancing.
- Book accommodation months ahead; prices spike across the city during Feria.
